The Eye Clinic Surgicenter is located in Billings, MT, and is dedicated to improving the vision of our patients.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Ophthalmic Technician. This position requires a nurse to doctor mentality to prepare the patient to see the doctor. The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for performing patient work-ups, visual field testing, OCT testing, visual acuity testing, tonometry, pachymetry, corneal topography, fundus photography, scribing for the physician, and assisting in minor surgeries such as LASIK.

Qualifications

• Experience in Optometry, Ophthalmology, or medicine
• Skills in scribing for physicians
• Experience in patient work-ups
• Ability to perform diagnostic testing:  visual field testing, OCT testing, visual acuity testing, tonometry, pachymetry, and corneal topography
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Strong follow-up skills
• Must show empathy and compassion
• Self motivated and team oriented
• Friendly personality
• Familiarity with EMR software
• Certification from JCAHPO or willingness to obtain certification (not required but highly encouraged)
• Experience in the field or related field is desirable

Hours may vary. 700a-600p M-F. No Weekends (unless special function). Usually a steady 40 hr / week depending on doctors schedules.

Travel to satellite offices (Red Lodge, MT, Thermopolis, WY, Lander, WY) (rotates with other technicians)
